Hydrocarbon Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)

Hydrocarbon-SCR (lean NOx reduction) systems use hydrocarbons as the reductant. The hydrocarbon may be that occurring in the exhaust gas (“native`) or it may be added to the exhaust gas. This has the advantage that no additional reductant source needs to  be onboard.

Expertise and experience:

  • Principle investigator on Department of Energy contract (~$12,000,000) for new catalytic materials development. DOE project had BASF and Accelrys as partners
  • High throughput reactor data mining
  • Reactor studies of the program catalysts
  • Evaluation of dynomameter evaluations of the program catalyst

 Publications:
